Firmware Test Engineer (M/F/X)

The Firmware Test Engineer is responsible for validating and ensuring the robustness, reliability, and quality of the embedded software running on our gateways. The role includes designing, implementing, and executing manual and automated tests, developing the test environment, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our testing ecosystem. 

The Firmware Test Engineer works closely with Firmware Developers, Product Owners, and other Test Engineers. 

YOUR RESPONSABILITIES

Firmware Testing & Quality Assurance 

  • You test and validate firmware features, bug fixes and related tools 
  • Your design, implement, and execute test suites and test cases (manual + automated) 
  • You reproduce, analyze, and document issues with clear steps and diagnostics 
  • You contribute to test plans, test strategies, and release qualification activities 
  • You provide quality reporting during release cycles 
  • You work closely with developers & QA teams 

Test Infrastructure & Automation 

  • You develop and maintain the firmware testing infrastructure 
  • You identify tooling or infrastructure gaps and propose improvements 
  • You implement automated tests using established frameworks 
  • You participate in improving the non-regression test suite and automated test coverage 
YOUR PROFILE
  • You have experience with firmware/embedded testing 
  • You have python skills & familiarity with automation frameworks (PyTest, BDD) 
  • You have an understanding of computer networking 
  • You have basic knowledge related to Docker 
  • You have basic knowledge related to Jenkins/Gitlab CI or any general knowledge around CI/CD 
  • Your have critical thinking around developed features/specifications 
  • You have knowledge around Scrum and/or Agile methodologies 
  • You have knowledge about ISTQB  
  • Experience about security testing is a plus !
  • You have a Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or another relevant technical domain. 
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a distributed environment. 
  • You have ability to work in an agile, DevOps-oriented team.
